ILM is the UK’s leading provider of specialist leadership, coaching and management qualifications. Their mission is to harness the power of leadership to transform people and businesses for the better. A part of City & Guilds since November 2001, ILM offers internationally recognised learning programmes delivered by a network of over 2,500 training providers and employers around the globe.
Every year, ILM qualifies approximately 70,000 leaders and managers, helping them develop critical skills to succeed and make a tangible difference in workplaces worldwide. Through its robust, flexible programmes, ILM focuses on essential leadership skills such as decision-making, teamwork, creativity, strategic planning, and more. The quality of ILM’s training is unmatched, ensuring that the learning is immediately applicable to real-world challenges and supports participants throughout their development journey. ILM’s qualifications are internationally recognised and aligned with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) in Ireland and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
ILM recognises Rock Learning’s Emerging Leader award through a digital credential, providing a visual representation of a person's skills and achievements. These allow individuals to easily capture and share their accomplishments online with professional networks and potential employers. Hosted on ILM’s secure platform, the credential offers accessible, data-rich information about an individual’s knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
Founded in 1878, City & Guilds has a rich history of helping individuals and businesses develop essential skills. Initially established to address the skills gap created by the industrial revolution, City & Guilds is now a global leader in skills development, offering vocational qualifications recognised around the world. Their mission is to maximise staff potential while supporting employers in developing skilled workforces.
Locally, Rock Learning supports Acquarius. Founded by Jo Abergel ten years ago, the firm’s courses have been recognised by ILM since 2017. As Gibraltar’s only ILM-recognised training provider, Rock Learning has played a pivotal role in the leadership development of local companies, including a number of the leading online gaming firms.
Gareth Cross shares: “ILM’s global reach was one of the key factors that drew us to the programme. Our ambitions at Acquarius extend beyond Gibraltar, so it is crucial that we demonstrate our commitment to leadership training in an international context. ILM, through City & Guilds, offers that global perspective, and we are thrilled to be associated with them. This partnership not only strengthens our training initiatives but also allows us to promote Acquarius to potential new talent. I also want to acknowledge Jo Abergel at Rock Learning for her exceptional training and support. Her work with Acquarius has been invaluable, covering coaching, soft skills training, and the ILM-accredited leadership course for our executive and management teams.”
Jo Abergel comments, “I am delighted to work with Acquarius, a company that has consistently demonstrated its commitment to training and developing staff at all levels. The Executive Board have led by example, and it has been a pleasure to work with the team through this stage of their leadership journey. This achievement is well deserved, and I look forward to continuing our work with members of Acquarius' executive and management as they further their leadership development."
