Gareth Cross
Gareth joined Acquarius as Chief Operating Officer in June 2022. Prior to Acquarius Gareth enjoyed a 23-year career in banking with the RBS Group, joining RBS International (the offshore arm of the NatWest Group) in the Isle of Man in 1999. During his time with the RBS Group, he specialised in servicing financial institutions, including life assurance, captive insurance, other banks and building societies and latterly a 12-year focus on regulated trust and company services providers (TCSPs).
Most recently Gareth took on the team leadership responsibility for the RBS International Institutional Banking team in Gibraltar and the Isle of Man, where he was responsible for leading a team of relationship managers and had responsibility for a sizeable profit and loss and balance sheet. Gareth was a member of the NatWest International Gibraltar Leadership Team and Riskco, and RBS International Isle of Man Riskco. He holds the Applied Diploma in Corporate Banking (IFS), RBS Certificate in Credit (IFS), Diploma in Lending Skills (Chartered Banker Institute) and was amongst the first awarded with the RBS Mastery in Coaching certificate and was chosen to pilot the NatWest Group Climate Change Transformation Programme (University of Edinburgh Business School), which he particularly enjoyed and retains a keen interest.
As Chief Operating Officer at Acquarius Trust Company, Gareth brings a wealth of transferrable and professional expertise. He is responsible for ensuring the overall efficient operation and compliance of the business. Gareth prides himself of continuous improvement and can often be found working on solutions to simplify the complex. Outside of work, Gareth enjoys spending time with his Wife and two Children, who now call Gibraltar their home. A keen follower of most sports, Gareth enjoys socializing, reading and exercise, which includes walking his rescue dog, Amaro.
