With preparations ongoing for months including building some state of the art facilities and updating others it all comes to a head next Saturday 6th July with the Opening Ceremony starting at 7.30 at the Europa Point Stadium ending at 9pm.

The games end on the 12th July with a massive sporting events programmes featuring all the usual suspects from Athletics, Swimming, Cycling, Judo, Shooting, Tennis etc etc the website has more details on the sports and Islands attending on the website. Medal ceremonies will be held in the Games Square (Casemates) nightly before Summer Nights events so everyone can get involved and cheer on our home grown winners. Gibraltar does pick up medals and all our competitors need help when the going gets tough in those final few metres or minutes of an event.

The closing ceremony is on the 12th July at the Europa Point Stadium and starts at 8pm running to 8.30pm.

Also connected is this years Calentita which is being held Friday 5th July. The annual foodie fest is a must do if you are in town but be prepared it is a well attended event and even though there are food stalls of all types the queues start as soon as the aroma hits you.
