News from the Trust Company

Our partner firm Cruzlaw LLP today posted a news item from the Gibraltar Chronicle re’ Gibraltar’s Chief Minister Fabian Picardo, see here. Whilst the C.M.  clearly sets out the government’s stall in his letter to Mr Mitchell it is often the case that Gibraltar as a jurisdiction does sometimes get a bad rep. These and many other battles are fought by the Gibraltar business, finance and political community Always conscious that other countries that do not know us personally could be put off working with companies like the Acquarius Trust Group because of these comments.

From the oft heard “tax haven” or “not whitelisted” or even “money laundering” Gibraltar not only has to contend with these false pronouncements but also continue to do business and compete with other jurisdictions for this business. Gibraltar “ergo” Acquarius are fully signed up to OECD & we are a compliant jurisdiction along with many others around the world.
